Ephraim Hill, s/o Samuel Hill and Hannah Twitchell, d 18 Apr 1760, m. 15 Jun 1715 Hannah Sheffield. "Mr. Ephraim Hill was the first white man that settled in Douglass, and in 1721 the town of Sherborn granted him twenty acres of the 4,000-acre grant, in consideration of this fact."

  4.   Source:Hurd, D. Hamilton. History of Worcester County, Massachusetts, Vol. 2, p. 979, says Capt. Ephraim Hill died 1795 aged 107. The probate file in 1795 clearly belongs to the son Ephraim based on the heirs named, and the death record of Capt. Hill in 1760 is found in Douglas VRs. So this is clearly wrong.
