History of Wayne Co., OH; Went to Nottawa, Michigan in 1829 with his family where he worked on a farm until 1838 when he entered college. In 1840 he moved to Wadsworth, Ohio and later to Mt. Vernon, Ohio in 1844. He was admitted to the bar in May of 1847 and settled in Wooster, Ohio. In 1852 he purchased, as partner with H. C. Johnson, the Wooster Republican and continued its publication until July 1870 when he moved to Cleveland, Ohio.
