    Will of "Enoch Whitmore of Royalston ... yeoman", dated 3 Jul 1838, proved 23 May 1844, names wife Hannah Whitmore; daughter Rhoda [later called Rhoda Whitney] or her children, appointing Arba Sherwin guardian; my two daughters Sally Lewis and Tameizen [sic?] Ellis. Timothy Lewis and Ezekiel Ellis my two son in laws to be executors.
    5 Jun 1844: Inventory of estate of Enoch Whitmore Dec'd: $990.34, by John Whitmore, Otis Bemis, W. H. Vose.
    14 Oct 1745: Account of Timothy Ellis allowed.
    23 Oct 1845: Receipt of Tamerzen Ellis and Ezekiel Ellis having received of Timothy Lewis their full share.
    [From Case 65282: pension of Enoch Whitmore: 1st Tues. Dec. 1852, Enoch Whitmore, private in the Massachusetts Continental line in the War of the Revolution dies Dec 1843 leaving three children: Sally W. Lewis wife of Timothy Lewis of Royalston, Tamerzin Ellis wife of Ezekiel Ellis of Warwick, and Rhoda Whitney wife of Edward Whitney of Royalston. Rhoda has since deceased leaving children: Nancy Shedd wife of Charles Shed of East Stoughton MA; Stillman Whitney of Waine County Michigin; Fansey A. Whitney of Clinton MA; Edward Whitney, Charles Whitney and Albert Whitney the last three residence unknown or if living.]

  3. Note: daughter's death record gives her father's birth place as Newton, so suspected of being the "WHITMORE, Enoch, ch. Joseph and Susanna, bp. --- [prob. before 1773]". The "probably before 1773" is presumably based on the surrounding records, but Joseph the father died 1766 and the mother remarried in 1767 a man from Needham, so this baptism was probably earlier than that, thus becoming a better match to the estimated birth date.
