  3.   Source:Savage, James. Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England, p. 2:434, gives a birth date of 20 May 1654. This has not been located in the Hingham records, nor in Source:History of the Town of Hingham, Massachusetts or Source:Hobart, Edgar. Hobart Genealogy : The Descendants of Edmund Hobart of Hingham, Mass the last two only giving the baptism date found in the Hobart Journal (cited above). It is listed in Source:Massachusetts, United States. Massachusetts Births and Christenings, 1639-1915, but as this is an index, without knowing and seeing the original source, it is too likely that somebody mis-read the baptism date, given that none of the authoritative sources seem to have the birth date or an age at baptism that might suggest how this birth date was arrived at.
