  6. 6.0 6.1 While several secondary sources link him to Hesbaye, there is no primary source that does so, other than an assumption that his paternal uncle Chrodgang, Bishop of Metz, was the same person as Archbishop Chrodgang who was a (close?) relative of Heimrich, Count of Wormsgau, grandson of Robert, Count of Hesbaye and Wormsgau. See Cawley (Medieval Lands) for more details.
