Emmett remarried a lady named Ellen and was married to her at the time of his death. Emmett and Myrtle are buried beside each other at Seaside Memorial Park, Corpus Christi Nueces County, Texas. Emmet Dwight was the third of four sons, required to register, of Miles Jennings and Sarah Elizabeth Freeman and another grandson of Jennings Nix and his second wife Temperance (Tempy) Poole Ellison. My records show that he was born in 1889, one year latter than indicated. He had a older brother named Forney Lee that was born 10 March 1888 and died after only five months of life. Emmet married Myrtle Leona McGee in 1908 in Potosi, Taylor County,Texas. They had the following children; James Leven, Hazel Elizabeth, Robert Hubert, Thomas Dwight, Kenneth Emery, Wayne McGee, Juanita Varie and three additional younger sons, but I do not have their names. His wife's parents were Wesley Clark McGee and Rebecca Elizabeth Hunnicutt from Mississippi. Emmet reported his age as 28 when he reported to the local draft board at Walbarger on 5 June 1917. The location of Walbarger was not found but it assumed that it must be near the area where he was farming identified as Chillicothe, which is located in Hidalo County on the Mexican border near Reynosa Mexico. He was identified in the 1930 census as a Truck Farmer, Which in Alabama means that he was growing vegetables for the kitchen table and not things like cotton, or even corn or other grains. The registration card describes him as Medium height, Stout build, Gray eyes and Brown hair. Emmet and Myrtle were divorced in 1934 and he married a second time. He remained with his second wife Ellen until his death in 1963. He is buried with his first wife Myrtle at the Seaside memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas. Myrtle followed him by 13 years in 1976.
