Although Emma was baptised at Tiverton, the 1871 census tells us she was born at Knowstone, which was in the South Molton registration district, whereas Tiverton was not. It therefore seems that she was born at Knowstone and her birth was registered at South Molton, but then the family immediately afterwards moved to Tiverton where she was baptised.
