Emily M. Bankston was the daughter of Calvin and Sarah Smith. She was born Jan. 12, 1847, united with Silver Creek Baptist Church August 27, 1862. Was baptized by Rev. B. A. Crawford, was married to J. L. Bankston, Jan. 12, 1869. To this union 11 children were born, 4 boys and 7 girls, all whom are living. She was received by Pleasant Hill Church June 6, 1873, where she remained a faithful member until her death. She had been afflicted nearly 8 years. Besides her husband and children, she leaves 49 grandchildren. Her body was laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Church. Funeral rites conducted by Eld. I. E. and C. T. Corkern.
