Coshocton Tribune, April 21, 1937, Page 3 OBIT: Wednesday, FORTUNE RITES HELD Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Fortune, 84, were held from the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Allison, two miles west of Killbuck Sunday afternoon, with Rev. O. R. Clary, pastor of the Killbuck Christian church, officiating. Burial was made in the Wolf Creek cemetery near Killbuck. Mrs. Fortune, a native of Holmes county, died at the home of her son, A. W. Fortune, at Lexington, Ky., last Friday following an illness of complications. She was born on Wolf Creek, near Killbuck, Aug. 1, 1852, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Middaugh. She was united in marriage to William (Doc) Fortune, who preceded her in death 19 years ago. She left Holmes county to live in Kentucky about 40 years ago. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, A. W. Fortune, at whose home she died, Lee Fortune of Bethesda, Ohio, Bradford Fortune of New Cumberland, Ohio, Mrs. Roy Saylor of Dayton and Mrs. Harvey McCartney of California; three brothers, Milan Middaugh of Hicksville, Ohio, Jacob Middaugh and William Middaugh, both of Killbuck, two sisters, Mrs. Charles P. Allison, Killbuck, and Mrs. Ella Bucy of Glenmont; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Fortune, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Lewis of Lexington, Ky., Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fortune of Bethesda, Ohio, and daughter Gwendolyn, of Cleveland, Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Fortune and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fortune and family, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Fortune and family of New Cumberland, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Middaugh of Hicksville, Roy Saylor and daughter, Ruth, of Dayton.
