Emily E. Coon Thomas, widow of Samuel M. Thomas was born in Alfred, Oct. 29, 1828. After a long illness, terminating in apoplexy, she died at the age of 65 years, at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. C. Eaton, in Alfred Centre. She experienced religion in early life, and remained a member of the First Seventh-day Baptist Church of Alfred, until her death.
