  11. Emil Stenberg Dies Suddenly
    Attorney Stricken While Sleeping

    Death claimed Emil N. Stenberg, for many years a leader in local law and Masonry circles, Thursday night at his home, 503 No. 2d st. He died suddenly in his sleep.
    Stenberg was at the height of his career, just recently elected president of the Bar association, and was installed Wednesday night as commander of Ivanhoe Commandery No. 4, Knights Templar. He was a member and past master of Tacoma Lodge No. 22, F.&A.M., and a member of the Scottish Rite and of the York Rite.
    A native of Chicago, Ill., he received his earlier education there, and was graduatedfrom the University of Michigan with a degree in law. He came to Tacoma in 1904, and has practiced here ever since.
    He leaves his wife, Jessie; a sister, Mrs. Fred McKinster of Detroit, Mich.; and a brother, Dr. Nels Stenberg of Jackson, Mich.
