Eloise Ridge, 78, Prairieton, died Sunday Jan. 30, 1994, at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Terre Haute. She was born June 3, 1915, in Dugger to Martin and Missouri Borders Hatfield. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Oscar Ridge, who died in 1979, one daugter, Karen; and one brother, Bill Hatfield. Survivors include four daughters, Mary Shepherd and Sheila Grassick, both of Terre Haute, Margaret Fields, Prairieton, and Eva Strain, Prairie Creek; 10 sons, Bill Ridge, Jim Ridge, Mervin Ridge, Joe Ridge, Steve Ridge and Jack Ridge, all of Terre Haute, Harold Ridge, Farmersburg, David Michael Ridge, Jasonville, Larry Ridge, Prairie Creek, and Bill Shepherd, Prairieton; two sisters, Agnes Parks, Dugger, and Laura Eagleton, Robinson, Ill.; 51 grandchildren; and 53 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Tennis Funeral Home with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial is in Dugger Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until time of services.
