DEATH OF ELLA HAWKINS Died -- At her residence in Ervin township, on January 18th, of typhoid-pneumonia, Ella Hawkins, wife of Luman W. Hawkins. But nine brief months ago these columns contained a notice of the marriage of the deceased to the now sorrowing husband. Her cheeks were then tinged with the rosy hue of perfect health. Life with its sweets was promising, and the future unfolded its joys to her vision in gorgeous colors. In nine fleeting months death claimed her, and earth lost a jewel and Heaven gained an angel. She was a true, devoted, constant, confiding wife, ever cheering her husband and aiding him in his labors. She was attacked with typhoid-pneumonia, and suffered intensely for nine weeks, when the brittle cord of life gave way and she was at rest. She was loved by all with whom she came in contact. She was a true, model wife, and companion. Her loss is felt by a large circle of friends. Her mourning husband has cause for sorrow. Within one year he has lost by death his father, a sister, an uncle, and last his devoted wife. Ella Hawkins is no more, but her bright spirit is in full enjoyment of those blessings that emanate from the Throne of Him, who so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that who so believeeth on Him might not die, but inherit eternal life.
