The 1790 census for Chowan Co, NC shows only two Wilder families -- John and Francis. Of the two, only Francis’ family shows 2 women as part of the entry (John’s entry is just himself). Since Elizabeth was not yet married in 1790, and actually was only about ten years old, it stands to reason that she was still living with her family.

I am seeking information on an ancestor, James Wilder,Sr.b.1762, Chowan Co.,N.C. who was the son of William Wilder,Sr. b.1713, Chowan Co., N.C.

Could you tell me how far back your family's bible records in your Wilder lines go, and if so are these men mentioned> I do have a little more on them, wives, children to help identify if necessary. I am interested in the early Wilder history to America.
