    Rev. Gabriel Adam Reichert Journal 20 December 1829 Funeral. Should have been at Salem Church, but could not because of funeral at Kiski Forks known as John Hill Barn. Note sometimes Klingensmith buried on their farm.

    Philip Klingensmith and Christina (Walthour) and their son John Peter born 19 May 1773 baptized at Zion Church Westmorerland County Pa was taken by Indians to Canada from Klingensmith Blockhouse in Hempfield Township Westmoreland County Pa. Rev. Paul Ruff translated the German writing on a page found in Klingensmith Bible and said the Klingensmith came over the mountains in 1770 to Westmoreland County Pa both parents were murdered by Indians no other family members.
    Son, John Hans Philip Klingensmith born 15 July 1760 died 29Nov 1832 #317566854 FAG by tombstone Brush Creek Cemetery Westmoreland County Pa had this Bible. Rev. Paul Ruff gave a copy to Margaret Stivenson Krecota in 1990 when I saw Rev. Paul Ruff at Historical Society because I belong to First Evangelical Lutheran Church called Klingensmith Church Leechburg Pa. I did all the Church records from 1812 to 1989 Baptisms, Marriages, Deaths total pages 287. Book is at Historical Society in Leechburg and in Kittanning Pa.

    bpt. 6 July 1760 in Lehigh Twp., Northampton Co., PA by Rev. Schumacher. Daughter of Peter and Christina Wannemacher. ("Rev. Daniel Schumacher's Baptismal Register, 1754-1774", published by the PA German Society, 1968) She moved with her parents to Westmoreland Co., PA about 1772-1774 and there married Joh. Philip Klingensmith, b. 27 Oct. 1757, bpt. 13 Nov., Berks Co., PA, s/o Peter and Marie Elizabeth (perhaps Kauffer) Klingensmith. (Oley Hills Union Church Records.)
    Philip Klingensmith served in the American Revolution, service Rangers on the Frontiers, Westmoreland Co. during the time of 1778-1783. (DAR Patriots Index, II:39) They lived in Hempfield Twp., then moved to Allegheny Twp., Armstrong Co., PA where he was an early pioneer and prominent legislator, serving 1800-1808 in the Pennsylvania legislature. Elizabeth Catharina died prior to her husband, and Philip d. about July 1826, both in Allegheny Twp., Armstrong Co. They are both buried on the old Kidd Farm Cemetery.
