"in his will of 6 May 1707 Andrew Bowne named "my loving wife sole executrix", and on 28 June 1708, administration was "granted unto Elizabeth Bowne sole executrix" [New Jersey Wills 1:209-10]"
'1716, Nov. 19: Letrs. of Adm. were granted to "Obadiah Bowne, Esq.," to adm. on the est. of "Andrew Bowne, late of Middletown."' and the heirs of Andrew Bowne released him on 2 Jul 1724. This suggests that Andrew's widow was unable to continue with administering the estate (presumably on behalf of her minor children) after Nov 1716.
