Edward Sturgis of Yarmouth, Massachusetts, 1613-1695, and His Descendants, p. 11, posits that Edward's wife is Elizabeth Hinckley, the "kinswoman" of Samuel Hinckley came to New England with him, whose father died before she left England. This is largely circumstantial based on the naming of their children. But this is incompatible with the court statement of Elizabeth Sturgis after her marriage that at various times she went to her father's house in Watertown.
