    Case 8347: Marrow Elizabeth 1745 Oct 9.

  2. Source:Merrow, Oscar Earl. Henry Merrow of Reading, Massachusetts, and His Descendants Named Merrow, Marrow, and Merry, p. 14, says Daniel Merrow m. "before March 1696" Elizabeth Stimpson. This is strange because the first child shown by this source (or found in searching) is born 1707. Since no evidence is given, this is assumed to be an error. There are few gaps in the births of siblings that will admit an extra daughter, and it seems most likely that Elizabeth's birth was related to the death of James' first wife Naomi. It was common for children born at their mother's death to be unrecorded, and in her father's probate, widow Patience signs a receipt on behalf of son Isaac Goodale but never mentions any Stimpson children that might be hers, suggesting she had none. Further, Elizabeth is listed last among the daughters in the distribution of James' estate, following Mary, so born after 1679, which would make her either belong to Patience, which seems contraindicated, or else Naomi's last child.
