NOTE: These three children were all the offspring of Elizabeth's 2nd husband, Thomas S. Johns. She showed a propensity after the termination of each marriage to return to the use of her maiden name.

Obituary, Albia Republican, 14 Jun 1921:S7
- Mrs. W. D. Smith received word that her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Sapp Clifford, had passed away at the home of her son, B. S. Sapp, in Dumas, Missouri. The remains were brought to Albia Saturday and on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, the funeral was conducted by Rev. George Conford of the United Brethren Church. The remains were laid away in Oak View Cemetery. The out-of-town relatives present were her son, John A. Johns and wife of Chicago, Ill., Arthur Smith and wife of Cheyenne, Wyoming, B. S. Sapp of Dumas, Missouri and Mrs. George Sapp and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hunt of Blakesburg.
Death cert. gives birth date as: 10 Dec 1853 [. . . but then she wouldn't have been in the 1850 census].
[Note that Elizabeth's son, Byron, continues to use his mother's maiden name, "Sapp" -- not "Baird," his father's name.]
