Elizabeth Olds Miller, 71 years old, a resident of Elkhart for the greater part of her life, died at 3 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of her nephew, Charles T. Olds, 1312 Jackson street, where she had lived for twenty-eight years.
"Death was due to paralysis with which the deceased had suffered for a number of years, and which was complicated by the ailments of age. She had been bedfast for the greatest part of the last eight months. She was a patient sufferer and was known to many friends as a gracious and kind woman.
"The deceased was born in Adamsville, Cass county, Mich., on August 8, 1843, the daughter of Harvey Olds. Her father died when she was a child; and from 1851 she lived with Franklin Kenyon and his family on a farm which was located where the J. D. Wood home now stands on East Jackson street. In 1871, she was married to William B. Miller, a farmer. They lived on a farm near Adamsville and later on a farm where the C. E. Olds home is now located, on East Jackson street.
"Since the death of her husband, on May 7, 1886, Mrs. Miller has made her home with her nephew, at whose home she died.
"The deceased is survived by her nephew, a cousin Phineas Clarke, and a brother-in-law, Francis Miller, both of this city. The funeral will be held at the Olds home at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. C. M. Herrick of the First Presbyterian church. Interment will be in Grace Lawn cemetery.
