Robert Charles Anderson says that there were two men named William Knopp in Bures St. Mary, and that the William Knopp who emigrated to Watertown was a near relative of this Elizabeth Knopp, but not her father.[2] The other William was her father, according to Clifford L. Stott, who examined the records.[1]
