- ↑ "Grandmother Elizabeth left the Porter farm in 1917 and resided with her daughter, Grace, in Indiana, Iowa, & Illinois where she died in 1942.
- ↑ Mildred Porter, grandaughter of Elizabeth Kail, recalled (ca 1990's) that her grandma loved the outdoors & was a hard worker. Lizzie milked cows both morning and night. She had a garden & flowers. She was always willing to read to her grandchildren, to take them sledding in winter or swimming in summer. She did a lot of sewing & made beautiful quilts.
