"Elizabeth Hyde (29), bap. at Lebanon, Conn., 12 Dec, 1703, the second daughter of Samuel Hyde (4) and Elizabeth Calkins, was a granddaughter of Samuel Hyde (2) the first, and Jane Lee, of Norwich. … (She) practiced midwifery, and survived (her husband) several years. The date of her death has not been ascertained. But she was living in Jan., 1780 (the cold winter), when she was sent for, and drawn upon a handsled four and a half miles to the town of Goshen, to attend upon a lady who was confined."
