"One Elizabeth Hutchinson married at Lebanon, 6 Dec. 1721, Caleb Chappel. She has a stone in the Exeter Cemetery and died in 1785 in her 85th year. She seems not to be a daughter of either Samuel or John; possibly she was widow of Jonathan, but if so, was very young when he died."

  5. Trumbull's identification of Elizabeth's husband as "a Chapwell" (probably from her father's probate as her sister Ruth also married "a Chapwell") strongly indicates that she was not the very young widow of the Jonathan Hutchinson who died at Lebanon in 1717.
