Smoke Ferree CD - November 2004 "My American Ancestors and their Descendants" by Edward Bowman Espenshade, published 1949 (Information received via Email from Yvonne Markle. Elizabeth (Howry) LeFevre was a remarkable woman, the mother of these three LeFevre sons as well as the mother of four sons by her second husband, Peter Espenschied. Thus, she became the mother of the entire Peter Espenschied lineage in America. Seven sons and no daughters is a remarkable family . She and her LeFevre sons' families were members of the Mennonite Church. She was buried beside her second husband in the Strasburg Mennonite Cemetery in Strasburg, Pennsylvania However, in the Biographical Annals of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, it is mentioned that John LeFevre and "Betsy" Howry had another child, sex not given, who died in infancy. John LeFevre died sometime in the late 1790's and his wife, Elizabeth Howry afterwards married secondly to Peter Espenschied. John LeFevre, previous to his death had received his patrimony from his deceased father, Adam LeFevre. (Note: Per George Newton LeFevre's book "The Pennsylvania LeFevre's", this John LeFevre's father was John LeFevre, not Adam, Adam's son John married Elizabeth Keeports. - Mike Smoke). She retained the original homestead of her first husband and when she married her second husband, Peter Espenschied, this homestead became the original Peter Espenschied homestead. Consult Chap.
