Facts and Events
Elizabeth Gobby was baptised on 10th August 1845 at Toddington in Bedfordshire, daughter of a straw plaiter named Mary Ann Gobby, formerly Buckingham, and her husband Joseph Gobby, an agricultural labourer.
In the 1851 census Elizabeth was living at Parsons End in Toddington with her parents and siblings. Despite being only five or six years old, she was already working as a straw plaiter. By 1861 she was described as a straw bonnet sewer.
Elizabeth has yet to be researched after the 1861 census.
