Elizabeth Fite was born in Sussex, New Jersey where her family was living and where her father served in the Revolution[1]. While John Broddie states she was born in Lincoln, North Carolina, depositions of Leonard and John Fite, her father and uncle, state in revolution records they moved to Pensylvania c 1784 and on to Lincoln, North Carolina about 1787. The 1850 census also reflects she was born in New Jersey. She moved to Smith County, Tennessee with her parents in 1796 where she met and married James Robinson. They are listed on the 1850 U. S. Census for Wilson County, Tennessee[1]. She and James had 12 children and the family lived near Liberty, Tennessee. In 1861, at the time of her mother's birthday celebration, Elizabeth had ten children living, seventy-five grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren[2].

Elizabeth's burial place is unknown, but most likely she was buried in Tally Graveyard near her husband. James Brodie states in his book that James Robinson was buried in Talley Cemetery, Wilson County, Tennessee[3].

  6. 6.0 6.1 The birth date for Elizabeth in the church records does not match her birth date she uses in other records after she is an adult. I truly believe this is the correct family as the time period when they are in Allentown TWP matches other records. Her parents names are listed and there is also a baptism record for Leonhard Lammerson (Lamberson). Leonard Fite's sister was the parent, and Leonard Fite's wife Margaretha was a sponsor. See Christ Evangical Luthern Church leaf 3/1.
  7.   Elizabeth is probably buried in Talley Graveyard. In Brodie's book, it states that her husband. James Robinson, is buried there.
