Facts and Events
MRS. WILSON was the author of the book WILLIAM & SUSANNAH (LOWER) SMITH. This compiler ("White Creek") corresponded with Mrs. Wilson long before he came in contact with Jack Akerboom. In one of her letters, Mrs. Wilson referred to "a dear friend", Mrs. Alton Lower, who did not have any Lower records, but referred me to her sister-in-law, Mrs. D. A. Rose, of Ligonier, Indiana. It turned out that Mrs. Rose was a member of what Jack Akerboom and I call the "COLUMBIANA COUNTY LOWERS" (Ohio). They have yet to be included in the pages of WeRelate.org. They also originated in Pennsylvania, but that is as far back as we can research them. They can be found in many counties in Ohio and Indiana, especially the counties also settled by the "Hirstein Lowers", and the Daniel Lower family of Urbana, Indiana. Mrs. Wilson recalled the time when she was a teacher in the Urbana, Indiana area in 1931-1933, and mentioned having "a little Lauer boy in the first and second grade". Of course this boy would have been one of "White Creek's" Urbana cousins, and a descendant of Daniel Lower (1792-1876). Mrs. Wilson was not descended from the Daniel Lower line, but from the related (not by blood) Hirstein Lauer/Lower line. Mrs. Wilson also referred "White Creek" to others in the line of descent from Susanna (Lower) Smith, in the city of Wabash. --White Creek 02:03, 25 January 2014 (UTC) References
