"… Elizabeth, daughter of Deacon Richard and Elizabeth (Peck) Ely, a wealthy landholder in that part of the town of Lyme, then, as now, called the North Quarter. She lived at the homestead for twenty-six years after the death of her husband, sharing the home with her son, Richard Ely Selden. She died February 2, 1802, in her seventy-eighth year, and is buried in the grave yard at Hadlyme."
