Betty Hawkins, 84, of Bloomfield, passed away at 2:24 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at Bloomington Hospital. Born Aug. 16, 1918 in Linton, she was the daughter of Ora and Mamie (Strosnider) Cuthrell. She was owner and operator of Cardinal Inn and Kickapoo Restaurants in Bloomfield, retired. She was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church. Survivors include, one son, Steve Hawkins of Merced, Calif.; one daughter, Pam Wise of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Michelle Stoker of Merced, Calif., Krista Turner of Columbus, Ryan Wise of Anderson and Megan Wise of Bloomington; five great-grandchildren, Jordan Shipley, Brian Turner, Jacob Turner all of Columbus, and Sarah Stoker and Brittany Stoker of Merced, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Hawkins, Jr. on May 30, 1987, and her parents. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery.
