    "Here is a little additional information - the Missouri marriage records (the compilation that has images of the originals) shows that the "C" probably stands for Courtenay (image is a little blurry, but reasonably possible to decipher). Elizabeth had been married before (on the record she is listed as 'Mrs. Elizabeth Courtenay Riley'). My best guess is that Courtenay actually was her maiden name, but I don't yet know that for a fact."
