- Family Tradition posted to Find A Grave: Her first marriage was to a Mr. Caldwell. She married W.T Mills (William) in Carroll Parish, LA on Jan 3, 1866. of this union was 4 girls (Jennie, Ada, Annie and Eunice) and 3 boys (William, Edward and Lonzoe). The story goes that after W.T died in 1888, Lizzie met a man, sold everything, and moved to East Texas (Lonzoe born in TX in 1884) After the money was gone so was the man. Not being able to care for the children still at home, she had to put Eunice and Edward in the County Orpanage. Older sibling Jennie took Eunice in to help her around the house, while her brother in law took Edward in to help with his farm. She was in Williamson County at one time and then to Harris County.
- Alyse Kingcaid letter 2/2002 - Lizzie Mills came to LA, then to TX by covered wagon. She came from a plantation in Miss. Her mother died on the way and is buried somewhere between Miss and LA.
- Webtex1999/Trip To Cemetery: Headstone has that she was 94 yrs old. So birth would be abt 1830. But death cert has birth as Apr 8, ???? she was 81 yrs old.
