Friday, August 30, 1929 (Kokomo, IN paper) Mrs. Watson, 92, dies. Aged resident of county succumbs to injuries suffered in fall. Mrs. Elizabeth Watson, age 92 years, the greater number of her long years having been spent in Howard County, and many of them as a resident two and one-half miles east of the city, on what was formerly well known as the James A. Murray farm, died at her late home Thursday night at 9 o'clock. Mrs. Watson fell a few days ago, fracturing her hip, but owing to her advanced age and weakened constitution was unable to rally from the shock and gain her recovery. She was the widow of Isaac Watson, an exceptionally well known pioneer farmer and stockman of Howard county. the entire life of Mrs. Watson was spent on the farm in the labors and direction of which she spared neither pains nor energy. Mrs. Watson was born February 2, 1837, in Shelby County, Indiana, and was the daughter of William and Mary Clark. Her marriage to Isaac Watson took place in 1855. The couple moved to Howard County in 1865. Mr. Watson died in 1906. Three of the children born to the union survive, William R. Watson, of Lincoln, Missouri, Elvina at home, and George E. Watson of Tipton. There are eleven grand children and nine great grand children. The funeral of Mrs. Watson will be held at the late home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Benjamin Kendall will be in charge. Burial will follow in Crown Point cemetery. Mrs. Watson was a member of the Christian church. She had a large number of friends who will mourn her departure. AGED LADY DIED FRIDAY NIGHT Mrs. Mary Ann Green, Without Children, Opened Her Home To Orphans FUNERAL SERVICE SUNDAY Mrs. Mary Ann Green, age eighty-three years, widow of James Green, died Friday evening at her home in Shelby township, south of Shelbyville. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases, and followed a lingering illness. Mrs. Green was a native of Shelby county, and all her life had been spent in the county. She was a daughter of William and Mary Clark, pioneer residents of the county. She was born in Washington township, March 24, 1839. Having no children of her own, Mrs. Green opened her home to orphan children, seven of whom made their home with her at various periods. They were Isaac Hawkins, Harlan Clark, Mrs. Thomas Bone, Mrs. Clarence Trimmel, Mrs. C. H. Perry, Arthur Trimble and Mrs. Hazel Chesser Easton. Mr. and Mrs. Green were married October 15, 1857. Mr. Green died several years ago. Mrs. Green leaves one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Watson, of Howard county. She is eighty-six years old. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Lewis Creek Baptist church, R. L. Shirley, pastor of the First Baptist church here, officiating.
