Elizabeth Brown's origins have yet to be established. The age given when she died suggests she was born around 1788. Elizabeth's first confirmed sighting is on 24th October 1814 when she married a labourer called Thomas Lewis at Willen in Buckinghamshire. At the time of their marriage Elizabeth was living in the neighbouring parish of Newport Pagnell. Thomas was a widower with two surviving children from his first marriage to whom Elizabeth became stepmother.

Elizabeth and Thomas settled in Willen, having one daughter baptised there in 1816, although sadly she died as a baby.

Just two months after her daughter's death, Elizabeth also died. She was buried at Willen on 16th September 1816. She was said to be 28 years old. Thomas survived her by nearly 35 years.
