    This monument is erected in memory of Eliza Romaine wife of Cornelius Gaul and youngest daughter of Benjamine Romaine Esq. of the City of NY who died at the residence of her father on the a4th day of April 1836 aged 27 years. Her husband has raised this monument as a testimony of his affection and respect to the memory of his beloved wife and companion.
