Eliza Newborn was the daughter of a couple named Francis Newborn and his wife Jane. She was baptised on 22nd November 1752 at Barnack in Northamptonshire. Both her baptism and that of her brother Francis three years earlier record the family's abode as Southorpe, a hamlet to the south of the parish. Eliza has yet to be traced after her baptism.
