    [Note: the author questions the marriage date, needlessly, apparently having misrecorded Hepsibah's birth date and becoming confused. However, he should have been questioning his birth date based on the birthdates shown for the children.]

New England Families, Genealogical and Memorial, Vol. 4, p. 1661, mentions Elisha Johnson, but appears to have no knowledge of him after the birth of his first son, and assumed he is the man of that name in Vermont, "thrice-married", obviously confusing him with somebody else.
