    Elisha B. Green, eldest son of Luther Green and father of George A. Green, was born in Madison county in 1818 and came to Allegany county with his parents two years later, where he resided until his death in 1887. In 1841 he married Miss Maria C. Bassett, who died in 1861. Mr. Green was a militia captain in Col. Wilson's regiment, supervisor of his town, justice of the peace for twenty-four consecutive years and justice of sessions for two terms, one of nature's noblemen, respected and esteemed by all who knew him.
