COON.-In Rockville, R. I., March 1, 1891, Captain Elias Coon, aged 87 years, 1 month and 8 days.
Mr. Coon was son of Caleb and Dorcas Coon. He was born in the town of Hopkinton, R. I., Jan. 24, 1804. At the age of 16 he began a sea-faring life, which occupation he followed for about 35 yeas. He never made a profession of religion, being of a skeptical turn of mind, but has always been considered an upright man, and highly respected by his neighbors.
