    Eli Johnson is the son of Harvey Johnson and Sarah Caudill, all born in Floyd Kentucky, according to the informant on the death record, son, Eli C Johnson, Jr.

    Eli is a veteran of the Civil War and has an honarary head stone on his gravesite for his service in the "Confederate States Army"

    In 1854 Eli married Susanna Elizabeth Skeen Daughter of Israel Skeen and Tilitha Bishop. They were blessed with children: Harvey, Telitha, Eli C, and Sarah Sallie.

    Eli died in July of 1913, age 75, of a disorder that affects (1) in 100,0000, "paralysis of the heart"; his wife Susanna, died just 2-months later, in September 1913. Both are laid to rest in Matthew Tacket cemetery, located in Melvin, Floyd County.
