Elhanan Lyon [#24], s/o Peter Lyon [#7] and Jane Vose, b. Dorchester 4 May 1690, bp. 11 5 mo. [sic, actually May in original record, "1+1+of+May+90" here, which would be considered 3rd month, not fifth month], d. Stoughton 30 Oct 1745, m. (1) Dorchester 19 Feb 1712 Mary Rodman, m. (2) 24 Sep 1713 Meredith Wyatt.
[Note: Lyons' coverage of the various Elhanan Lyons is confused, demonstrably wrong in some places, and probably wrong in others. In this coverage, the marriage to Mary Rodman is questionable, being followed by another marriage only 18 months later? Finding two marriages so close together in Dorchester, Lyons assigns them both to one man and leaves his cousin of the same name with no marriage? Meredith clearly married the man who moved to Stoughton, while no further evidence of Elhanan and Mary is found (notably no death record). Further Lyons assigns the 1732 marriage to Abigail Wyatt to the son Elhanah Jr. only to show him remarrying 18 months later to Hannah Tilden. Since Elhanan Sr. has a widow Abigail, has just lost wife Meredith in 1731, the marriage to Abigail should go to him, leaving the son only one marriage, to Hannah Tilden. The probate of Elhanan Sr. shows widow Abigail, son Enoch, while probate of Elhanan Jr. shows widow Hannah, but since both are insolvent or close to it, there is no list of heirs to be found in either.]
