  2.   Source:Metcalf, Isaac Stevens. Metcalf Genealogy, p. 21, claims this Eleazer "died in infancy", presumably because it shows another son named "Eleasar", b. "Nov. 21, 1700", who m. 1733 Margaret Ware. This piece of careless research (not the only one found in this source!) appears to have taken on a life of its own, repeated almost verbatim in Source:Cutter, William Richard. Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of the State of Massachusetts, Vol. 4, p. 2373.

Eleazer and Meletiah Metcalf had a son born 1685. No record of a death of this son is found. No record is found for another son born in 1700, and would be unlikely as they had twin girls in summer of 1699, so would not be expected to have a child so soon. Eleazer the father died in 1704.

Eleazer's brother Michael m. widow Elizabeth (Fuller) Kingsbury and had a son Eleazer, b. Dedham in 1684.

Two cousins born about the same time. According to Wrentham VRs, one m. Wrentham 15 Feb 1709/10 Judith George, while one m. Wrentham 6 Sep 1711 Hannah Ware of Dedham. The Dedham Historical Register, Vol. 4, p. 160, says it was the son of Michael that married Hannah Ware of Dedham.

Meanwhile Eleazer and Judith, the son of Eleazer by process of elimination, have three children recorded in Wrentham. According to the Wrentham record, a son Eleazer is born 21 Nov 1710 (i.e., not the 21 Nov 1700 date incorrectly used above) to Eleazer and Judith (i.e., not to Eleazer and Melatiah).
