    "85. Eleazer (Harwood), born (Hardwick) Sept. 28, 1737. He married Elizabeth Montague, daughter of Samuel Montague, May 19, 1761. They removed the next month to Bennington, Vt., thence to Pittsford, Vt., in 1783. Mr. Harwood was a devout Christain (sic), with a good education for his opportunities, gifted in speech and prayer and being very acceptable to the people in conducting religious services, he was unanimously called by the church and society at Pittsford, Vt., to become their minister. After much earnest prayer and consideration, he accepted the invitation, and was duly ordained the first settled minister of the Congregational Church of Pittsford. Here he labored faithfully and had the joy of seeing many persons brought to Christ through his ministry. He died May 19, 1807, …"
