- On page 17 of "The Moorhouses of Bear Creek, Bathurst and Brockville; Second Edition by Norine Tinney Wolfe", it says "The census of 1822 for Beckwith (Lanark), Ontario, indicates the widow Moorhouse lived on lot 13, concession 3, and had one hundred acres uncultivated, one milch cow and two horned cattle. We believe the widow Moorhouse was Eleanor Moorhouse, because three of her five sons had settled in Beckwith (Lanark), Ontario."
