  2. "Effie Q. Parris, 93, of Mineral Bluff Highway died Jan 12, 2003 at the Copper Basin Medical Center. She was born in Fannin County July 12, 1909, the daughter of the late Joe and Sarah Barker Queen. She was a member of the New River Baptist Church and was preceded in death by husband Stanton Parris, daughter, Linda K. Parris, son Denny Ray Parris and two grandchildren. Survivors include sons William James Parris of Morganton, Buddy Clinton Parris of McDonough, GA, Tommy T. Parris of Marietta, GA; daughters, JoAnn Towe of McCaysville, Corrine Ledford of Wolf Creek community, Brenda Gore of Marietta and Mary West of Buford; brothers, Earl Queen of Mineral Bluff Hwy and Ralph Queen of Blue Ridge Hwy; 23 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Jan 15 at 2 pm from the chapel of the Finch Cochran Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Pan Will Cemetery. Finch Cochran in charge."
