*NOTE. - Edwin Olmstead Keeler was born at Ridgefield, Conn. Jan. 12, 1846. At the age of 15 years he went as a clerk in the store of S.E. Olmstead & Co., of Norwalk, where his deportment and abilities were rewarded by promotion, and in due time by a partnership interest with the firm. He then bought an interest with Major George M. Holmes, which they organized into the Holmes, Keeler & Sellick Company, which is the largest grocery concern in Norwalk.

In 1887 he was elected a director in the Fairfield County National Bank, and in 1893 he was elected its president, and as such remains at the present writing. For many years he was an active member of the Norwalk Fire Department, and one of the Board of Fire Engineers. He was a delegate from the Ridgefield Press to the National Editorial Associational Convention at Detroit.
