Obituary Mr. Edwin Ernest Howery Edwin Ernest Howery was born in Anatler, North Dakota on August 9th, 1912 and passed away at Royal Alex Hospital in Edmonton on March 30, 1983.

He came to Canada with his parents and family at the age six and lived on a farm seven miles northeast of Okotoks, where he attended the Allan School. Three years later, his parents moved to another farm west of Okotoksm, where he attended Panima school. Young Eddie loved horses and he and his younger brother, Dale, would train them to do lots of tricks, much to the enjoyment of the other school children. He also loved truck-driving and this, as well as working in the oil patch, made up most of his adult years. He worked in Turner Valley for a number of years, later moving to Leduc, when oit was discovered, and later to Edmonton, still working in the oil industry. A few years ago, he retired on his acreage near Millet.

In 1942, he married the former Margaret Louisa Watrin, and to this union was born a daughter and two sons. Darlene Gagnoa, of Spring, Texas and REx, and Bruce of Millet and Tofield. He also had three step-children. Clarence, and STanley McIntosh, of Edmonton and Lyla Sleno, of Drayton Valley. He was a very kind and generous person. Well-respected, with a keen sense of humor, he was a good husband, father and grandfather. He had many friends and was always willing to lend someone a helping hand. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Margaret, three children, three step-children, 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, his brother Wesley, of Killam, Alberta; sister, Joyce Coultry, of Kamloope,B.C.; Uncle Alvie, of Okotoks and Aunt Delia, of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held from the Snodgrass Funeral Chapel in High River on Saturday, April 2nd at 10 a.m., with REv. Paul Steeves officiating. Interment followed at the Highwood Cemetery in High River. Pallbearers were Ron McIntosh, Patrick McIntosh, Steven McIntosh, Lyle McIntosh, Richard Sleno and David Sleno.
