    EDWARD WHALEY, 83, OF SWANWICK DIES
    Edward Whaley, 83, of Rt. 1, Swanwick, died at 3 a.m. today at the Fair Acres Nursing Home, DuQuoin. He had been ill for one month.
    Mr. Whaley was born Sept. 19, 1887, in Benton, the son of Felix and Margaret WHALEY. He was a retired farmer and had lived the past 24 years in Swanwick with his niece, Mrs. Ruby Sims.
    He leaves 16 nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton. Burial will be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
