    Edward West, b. ± 1639, vintner, Great Isl., wit. George Walton's p/a 22 Oct. 1662, m. his dau. Martha and had a s. John by 1665 when he conv. his ho. in trust for them and any other issue to Nathl. Fryer and Henry Robie, they to choose a third. Pub. ho. lic. 1663-1675. In 1666 he gave a bond to Philip Chesley, sr., wit. by his servant Christopher Snell; the next yr. Joanna Chesley test. ab. 'Mr. West coming up to our ho.' and borrowing a canoe. Sued Rowland Flansell and Christopher Banfield for forf. of a bond in Me. ct. 1667; ag. ± 29 in Dec. 1668; sued by Richard Wharton 1671; wit. ag. David Campbell 1673. Called Sergt. 1673. … Inv. (£540) 1 Sept. 1677, adm. 31 Oct. to wid. Martha and aft. her death to George Walton 24 June 1679. Her inv. (£762) 29 Jan. 1678-9, adm. to her fa. who leased to Henry Crown a ho. called 'The Anchor,' a brew-ho. and a log storeho., terminable on the oldest s. John coming of age.
