    A transcription of his will:

    In the name of God Amen this twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord God 1754; I Edward Thomas of the parish of Tref Eglwys in the Diocese of Bangor being sick and weak in Body but of perfect memory and calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say. Chiefly and first of all I Commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator and Jesus Christ [my] Redeemer by whose merrits death and Passion I hope for pardon and salvation and my body I bequeath to the earth to be decently buried acording to the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as for such worldly goods as it hath pleased god to endue me with I give and bequeath in manner and form following

    Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth the sum of one Shilling

    Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sarah the sum of one Shilling

    It. I give and bequeath unto my son Richard one little table with a Drawer under itt

    It. I give and bequeath unto my son Edward the sum of twenty shillings to be paid imediatly after my decease

    It. I give and bequeath unto my son William the sum of ten pounds to be paid when he shall attain to the age of twelve years

    It. All the rest of my goods I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Mary Thomas whom I nominate and appoint Sole Executrix of this my last will and testament revokeing and makeing void all other wills by me or for me heretofore made
